The Challenge
Tell us about yourself and the nature of your work.
My name is Tim Rood, and I´m the director of EKCIT (The European Knowledge Center for Information Technology). Our company is based in the South of Spain, and it aims to keep IT professionals informed about the latest developments in the IT sector. As the project leader for Kotobee implementation, I worked closely with our internal developer to integrate Kotobee Library into our system.

What challenges did you face before using Kotobee?
We wanted to move from sending whitepapers to our customers in a static PDF format to a more interactive solution. Our main aim was to have more control over the editing process and offer our customers a better digital experience. We also wanted our users to create an account to access the whitepapers; that way, we would be able to offer them a more personalized service.
What potential solutions did you explore which didn't work out?
We explored various tools and platforms, including Kitaboo Hurix, as well as a PDF reader tool, However, none of these options met our needs in terms of flexibility, scalability, and pricing. For example, PDFs offered little to no engagement so it didn’t help us deliver the dynamic experience we wanted for our clients.

“Kotobee’s competitive pricing, along with the team’s willingness to collaborate and tailor a solution to our needs, was invaluable.”
The Solution
How did you hear about Kotobee?
We came across Kotobee while searching the internet for a tool that meets our specific requirements. Once we found it, we decided to further explore its features.
What drove you to choose Kotobee?
For us, the pricing model was a key factor in our decision. We have a small number of ebooks and a large user base, so we needed a solution that wouldn’t increase the costs as our users grew. Kotobee’s competitive pricing, along with the team’s willingness to collaborate and tailor a solution to our needs, was invaluable. Their flexibility in accommodating our non-standard requirements made all the difference.
What specific aspect of your ebook are you most proud of?
We are very happy with the results from our "Functionality overviews" digital survey. This interactive survey allows our users to explore hundreds of software functionalities and select the ones they need. Once they submit it, we review their selections and provide tailored software recommendations based on their requirements.

The Results
What metrics do you use to measure the success of your project? Has Kotobee affected those metrics in any way?
Although we haven't measured the impact yet, we've received positive feedback from our clients. Also referring them to our "digital library" instead of asking them to "download the PDF" sounds much more professional.
The Future
What are your plans for the future?
For our ebooks, we are looking forward to using the upcoming Kotobee audiobook feature to convert all our books into audiobooks as well. We’re also exploring the integration of a custom translator into our books to achieve a more global reach.
